1. Introduction

Welcome to Carvaan. This Privacy Policy details how we collect, use, and secure information for both our Fleet Owners (managing vehicles and drivers) and Drivers (executing transit routes).

2. Information We Collect

For Fleet Owners:

  • •Business Registration: Business Name, GST Number (if applicable), and Business Address.
  • •Fleet Data: Registration certificates (RC), vehicle photos, and insurance details of vehicles added.
  • •Manage List: Details of drivers you register under your fleet (Name, Phone number, Email).

For Drivers:

  • •Driving Credentials: Driving License details (Front & Back photos), license validity dates, and Aadhaar card copies.
  • •Location Data (Background & Foreground): We track the device's GPS location when the driver is on an active trip. This is mandatory for passenger live-tracking, route safety, and arrival estimates.

Common Data collected from both:

  • •Phone number, personal Name, Email, profile picture, and device information (IP address, OS version, app usage logs).

3. How We Use the Data

Owner Data:

  • •To manage legal fleet listings, authenticate business existence (KYC), and facilitate vehicle-driver assignments.

Driver Data:

  • •To verify legal driving authorization, enable location-based matching for rides, display active route tracking to commuters, and process boarding scans via QR codes.

4. Data Security & Storage

All uploaded documents (Licenses, RC, Insurance) are stored in secure cloud containers. Access tokens are encrypted. We do not share or sell driver or owner logs with third-party advertising companies.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your profile data as long as your Carvaan Partner account is active. You may request account deletion or document removal at any time through our support channels.

1. Platform Scope

Carvaan is an intermediary platform connecting Fleet Owners, Drivers, and Passengers. Carvaan does not own any commercial vehicles. All operations are run by Fleet Owners and executed by registered Drivers.

2. Terms for Fleet Owners (Vehicles & Business)

  • •Ownership & Insurance: You must own or have legal authorization to list the vehicles in your fleet. Every vehicle must have valid, active commercial third-party insurance and a valid Registration Certificate (RC).
  • •Driver Management: Owners are solely responsible for hiring, background screening, and verifying the valid commercial Driving License of the drivers they add.
  • •Financial Disputes: Carvaan is not a party to salary or payment agreement contracts made between Fleet Owners and their hired Drivers.

3. Terms for Drivers (Operations & Safety)

  • •Valid Credentials: You must maintain an active, valid commercial Driving License (DL) at all times. Any suspension of your license must be reported immediately.
  • •Safe Driving Practices: Drivers must follow local traffic guidelines. Driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, overspeeding, or violating safety laws will result in immediate termination of access.
  • •Passenger Verification: Drivers are responsible for scanning passenger tickets/QR codes at the time of boarding and following the designated navigation route provided in the app.

4. Code of Conduct & Suspensions

Both Owners and Drivers must maintain professional conduct. Carvaan reserves the right to suspend any driver or fleet owner account if documents are found to be forged, or if the passenger experience is repeatedly compromised.
